Acebuches is a small Pueblo of about 40 houses. It is a quiet, charming and friendly village. The bread man’ drives through the village every morning, the fish and the vegetable man also deliver. Walking distance away is the village of Izbor where there are shops, bars etc. The Spa town of Llanjeron is close by and the Salobrena, Motril and Almunecar beaches on the Costa Tropical coast are all fifteen to twenty minutes drive from the village. Motril is the largest town and it has many supermarkets and a hypermarket, it even has for those so inclined a Burger King and a Macdonalds drive in. The cost of living is still very low in the province of Granada and you still get a free tapas with every beer or glass of wine.

The village is very Spanish, we have lived there for nearly ten years and have found them very helpful and friendly. There are 2 other English couples who have invested in properties here. It gives the impression of being isolated but in fact it is very close to all the attractions that the beautiful province of Granada has to offer. The city of Granada is only 30 minutes drive away where you can visit the old Moorish castle called the ‘Al Hambra’ in all its architectural and historical beauty. In winter you can be skiing at the ski resort in the Sierra Nevada in the morning and then drive down to the beach and sunbath in the afternoon.

At the entrance to the village there is a natural spring fountain and we call it the fountain of youth, the villagers swear by it and they have a record of having lived extremely long healthy lives. People come from all over with bottles and containers to take the water back to their homes. For walkers there are many beautiful walks the higher you go the more spectacular the view and there are two beautiful lakes nearby.

The house has been renovated, rewired and re plumbed since we arrived and it is on mains water, mains sewerage and mains electricity. In villages in Spain the local taxes are negligible so if you are buying it as a holiday home it is very low maintenance so you can leave it for long periods and it is very secure. We are selling with the furniture so you can move in straight away.
